\n\nIn this episode, Greg and Leon are joined by special guests Nigel and Tazziii for the crackling epicentre of a universe shattering event! part of a crossover with the Mayamada Story X Story Podcast We are here to discuss Jack Kirby's ETERNALS.
\n\nIn honor of the introduction of THE ETERNALS to the MCU we are going to be taking a look at The beginning of the Marvel Universe's Mythology, laid down by the king himself Jack Kirby. Riffing on the existence of gods, demons, monsters and heroes of ancient times. The genesis of man to modern day, told the marvel way. The yarn spun about beginnings of life on Earth and beyond in the Marvel Universe! It all begins here with Jack Kirby's bronze age books.
\n\nDiving into the THE ETERNALS (1976) We aim to provide you with an overview of the Marvel creation myth as well as discussing some truly great comics!
\n\nNotes:
\nBelow is the comparison image mentioned during the cast that illustrates the similarity of The Eternals title title lettering to that of the 1971 Bantam paperback edition of "Chariots Of The Gods?"

\n\nIn this episode, Greg, Leon and Rahul are joined by special guest Marvyn For the fourth installment in our epic discussion and breakdown of BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL.
\nBane has been defeated by a new, darker, reckless and more violent Batman and now he rules the night. Jean-Paul Valley for better or worse wears the cowl… What follows is our discussion and the highlights of his career as Batman! It’s all mostly mercs and hitmen from here on out…
We cover:
\n-Detective Comics #667-675
\n-Robin #1-2
\n-Batman: Shadow Of The Bat #19-20 and #24-28
\n-Batman #501-508
\n-Catwoman #6-7
\n-Showcase ’94 #7
This is the portion of the Knightfall epic known as “KNIGHTQUEST: THE CRUSADE” and covers Jean-Paul Valley's tenure as Batman and time in the cowl, in Gotham.
\nIt is at this point that there is a fork in the path for the Knightfall saga and as mentioned in previous episodes in this series “KNIGHTQUEST: THE SEARCH” is the other part of the story, concerning Bruce Wayne's recovery and globetrotting quest to rescue Dr Kinsolving and Tim Drake's Father. In reading order we have put "The Search" after "The Crusade" although the events are happening simultaneously.
We also discuss "The Search" broadly at the beginning of this episode, but we ultimately decided to give more time to "The Crusade" because it is the better written and more interesting side of events.
\n\n"The Search" covers:
\n -Justice League Task Force #5-6,
\n -Batman: Shadow Of The Bat #21-23,
\n -Batman: Legends Of The Dark Knight #59-61
\n -Robin #7

This story was originally serialised in the Marvel Comics Presents anthology book issues #72-84. it was part of Marvel presents vol 1 that ran for 175 issues between 1988-1995 biweekly. This book is the best there is at what it does, but what it does best isn't very nice... We examine the brutal and traumatic origin of Wolverine's adamantium skeleton and his savage forging in the fires of the mysterious Weapon X program.

At the end of the show, Vicki shouts out an upcoming event (Tuesday 13th November a.k.a. Robert Louis Stevenson Day) at Edinburgh Gothic for a series of scintillating talks on the Gothic. Vicki will be giving a talk entitled "Shirley Jackson and American Gothic fiction" which delves deeper into the medical humanities by examining Shirley Jackson’s critically understudied novel The Bird’s Nest and explores the ways in which dissociative personality disorder has been problematically conceptualised in Gothic terms, also with reference to Stevenson’s Jekyll and Hyde.

\n\nThe original hero-buddies deal with some small, unfinished business that spirals out of control in a big way!

\n\nAs we mention in the show Yes. The Iron Fist Netflix show IS out for consumption!
We thought we would include that David F. Walker produced one of the most definitive documentaries on the topic of Blaxploitation films; Macked, Hammered, Slaughtered, and Shafted.
He also worked on a Shaft comic
That Run The Jewels track we talk about.

\n\nWelcome to Ace Comicals this is the first show of 2017, Episode 001!
\n\nWe decided, to kick off the Ace Comicals 2017 Reboot, we would do a show where we talk about how comics work and how we got into it!
\nWe wanted to present a gentle introduction for people curious about comics, and to address some of the things we wish we had been told when WE started reading comics.
Alongside this episode, we have created a supplementary guide on the various methods for purchasing comics both physically and digitally
\n\nWe are your hosts, Greg, Leon and Rahul and we invite you to join us on our journey into the rabbithole of sequential art!
