Nigel Twumasi

Nigel Twumasi is the co-founder of mayamada, the UK manga brand featured in NEO Magazine, Bleeding Cool and the BBC among others. A former software engineer turned creative entrepreneur, Nigel as built up brand that reaches into comics, gaming and youth engagement and in 2019 was recognised as a member of the nationwide 56 Black Men campaign.
Alongside illustrator Pinali, Nigel produced manga-style comics from the mayamada universe: a television network with an anthropomorphic cast of characters. Each manga title telling the story of a different show!
mayamada also host a social gaming event called GamePad, promoting community and inclusion through video games. Nigel also delivers creative comic story workshops via The StoryBoard by mayamada. Through fun and engaging use of storytelling, they unlock the creative potential in young people and help them get closer to the storytelling process.
